Photorealistic Fashion Model Generation via AI

Description

The project «Generazione di modelli e capi di vestiario fotorealistici tramite intelligenza artificiale» aimed to develop a generative system capable of producing human figures and clothing from sketches. This system can be used as a creative support tool for designers, costume designers, and stylists.

Result

The project path involved developing an application able to generate a coloured, high-resolution image starting from a sketched content.

Objective

Business incubation

Partners: Aindo, AREA Science Park, Innovation Factory

The project received a funding of € 71.999,85 from the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia under the POR FESR 2014-2020 call, Activity 2.1.b.1 bis «Grants for pre-incubation and business incubation programs focused on cultural and creative projects».

POR FESR 2014–2020

An additional contribution of € 24.465,00 was received from the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia under POR FESR 2014–2020, Activity POR 2.1.b “Interventions dedicated to enterprises in the Culture, Creativity and Tourism specialisation area”.

DGR 1404/2020 – Grant for supporting young Venetian digital enterprises in developing Artificial Intelligence services

Application ID: 10348476
Financial support awarded: € 43.582,12

Objective

Thanks to the contribution of DGR 1404/2020 – Grant for supporting young Venetian digital enterprises in developing Artificial Intelligence services – Aindo received consultancy from CPI-Engineering for an analysis of the mechanical sector, with the aim of creating an innovative solution to automate the highest-cost process in the salted anchovy industry. The hybrid mechanical-AI solution reduced resources and time needed for filleting and bone removal, while lowering costs and increasing revenues. The objective was to develop a robotic system (mechanical + software) leveraging advanced computer vision and reinforcement learning algorithms for full automation of the processing of macerated fish.

Aindo Srl was incorporated on 27/06/2018 and recognised as an innovative startup on 15/11/2019, with the purpose of researching and developing algorithms in the field of artificial intelligence and recommendation systems based on advanced natural language processing techniques.

The hardware design was developed by Aindo in collaboration with CPI-Engineering, while the software was developed entirely by Aindo. The software used machine learning algorithms known as convolutional neural networks, which provided the machine with visual capabilities, and reinforcement learning technologies that used the performance tracking developed by the benchmark convolutional neural networks as reinforcement to determine improvements in parameter settings. The resulting solution automates a process currently performed entirely by hand, with a high use of resources and personnel.
