Aindo wins EIC Accelerator funding to advance synthetic data innovation
European Innovation Council backs Aindo to advance synthetic data technology
Trieste, Italy – February 27, 2025 – Aindo is proud to announce its selection for funding by the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator, Europe’s most prestigious program for innovative startups and SMEs. EIC Accelerator applicants are evaluated based on criteria for excellence, impact, and risk level. Aindo was chosen as one of 71 winners out of 1,211 applicants from across Europe. It was also one of only three Italian companies selected.
Aindo’s winning proposal involved a €2.1 million research grant, followed by a possible co-investment from the European Investment Bank (EIB). With the grant, Aindo will upscale its generative AI-based synthetic data technology. Synthetic data is artificially created to replace real-world data in research and AI development. This avoids the need to process individuals’ sensitive information, enabling privacy-safe innovation. The technology holds particular promise for sectors such as finance and healthcare, where privacy and data protection are crucial.
“A funding call of this caliber comes with considerable scrutiny,” says Alexander Boudewijn, who led the EIC application effort. “Our selection among so many companies therefore shows the importance of our solution, as well as the strength of our vision.”
“With this achievement, Aindo has proven to be one of the most innovative companies in Europe,” adds Daniele Panfilo, CEO at Aindo. “In the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI, we are proud to have developed a leading solution as an Italian SME. This is a true testament to the excellence, creativity, and dedication of our team!”
